Raila Odinga tests positive for COVID-19, in self-isolation

Former Prime Minister and ODM Party Leader Raila Amollo Odinga has tested positive for coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

In an official letter released this evening by PM’s Doctor David Olunya, Raila has tested positive and is responding well to medical attention at Nairobi Hospital.

This comes three days after Raila decided to visit Nairobi Hospital for routine checkup after experiencing some fatigue following 5 days political tour at the coast.

In a personal statement, Raila Odinga said he is feeling strong and is in good shape, and that he will now quarantine until he recovers.

He also called on Kenyans to adhere to all the measures set by the Ministry of Health to ensure the virus is contained.

Speaking on his twitter handle, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has wished the PM a quick recovery. Murkomen added that he respects Raila so much for always opening up about his health.

Other politicians have also come out to wish Odinga a quick recovery. Among them is Former Kiambu Governor HOn William Kabogo, Molo MP Hon Kuria Kimani among others
