Defending champion Gor Mahia FC grabbed three vital points against Wazito FC in a Kenya Premier League match played on the afternoon of Monday 31st at Utalii Sports Ground.
Despite a goalless first half, Gor came into the second half looking more charged to win the match, pilling pressure after every minute.
At the 51st minute, Philemon Otieno made a good run to the right and delivered a good cross straight to Tito’s head. Unfortunately, Tito failed to put his team ahead.
Vaz Pinto’s boys persistent efforts finally bore fruits in the eighty second minute when Jules Ulimwengu rolled the round leather to the back of the net, thanks to a good run and clinical pass from Samwel Onyango.
Despite persistent attacks from Kimanzi’s boys, Mahia controlled the game and took the three points to move to the fourth place in the premier league table.
With a game in hand and having grabbed 31 points from 17 matches, Gor are now seven points behind leaders Tusker FC and four points behind bankers KCB and their long time rival AFC Leopards who are joint at the second place.
