South African rapper Ricky Makhado, an award-winning hip-hop artist, is dead.

According to multiple reports received by Silvan News, the rapper and songwriter, whose real name is Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday morning at his home in Johannesburg.

It is alleged that after suffering depression for days, the actor took the unimaginable step to hung himself on a rope and commit what many now consider the worst suicide of the year.

Another source that spoke to Silvan News confirmed that his body was found by his management hanging on the tree at around 8.a.m in the morning of Wednesday 23, still alive. They hurriedly rushed him to the hospital where he succumbed minutes later.

“Unfortunately he died when they were en route to the hospital,” Confirmed a source who sought anonymity.

Julius Malema, South African Activist and Commander in Chief of Economic Freedom Fighters [EFF], took to his verified Twitter account three hours later to confirm the death.

“We love you my man; we did not listen to your loud whisper. We thought we still had time, and unfortunately, we are now too late to intervene.” Tweeted Malema.

At 4.20a.m, less than four hours before his death, Rick posted on his Twitter account, hinting at this death, saying this world is not his home. He went ahead to promise a return some day.

“I’ll return a stronger man. This land is still my home,” Tweeted Rick.

His death has since shocked many, especially his fans and friends who never imagined he would one day take such a step regardless of whatever he has suffered.

“I can’t believe I’m literally trembling man you really gotta tweet something, your aura breathes life to the messes, you’re needed! Your wife, your family, aybo Makhado!” said Michu Emunalo.
