Tumaini Yerad (30), a resident of Lufusi Village, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of raping a 70-year-old woman.
The sentence was handed down by the Resident Magistrate, Lusajo Mtua of the Mpwapwa District Resident Magistrate’s Court.
Judge Mtua said Tumaini committed the offense by stalking the woman as she was leaving the hospital and raping her.
He said the court found him guilty after agreeing with the statements of three witnesses and the exhibits presented in court.
