Deliverance Church Senior Pastor Rev. Mathew Wambua dies of Covid-19.

Senior Pastor Mathew Wambua of Deliverance Church in Donholm, Nairobi Kenya, has succumbed to Covid-19.

Pastor Wambua, 55, died on March 21st at around 10P.M after being admitted at an hospital in Nairobi due to Covid-19 complications.

His death has left his congregation, family and friends stunned and surprised, with many still finding it hard to believe the servant of God is indeed gone.

Shortly after his death, renowned Gospel singer Evelyn Wanjiru took to her verified facebook account to eulogize the Reverend, flashbacking on how he supported their vision of Praise Atmosphere that streamed live online on the eve of the new year.

Singer  Burton King, pained and unable to write much, only penned this;

“I loved you with all my heart!! Even heaven knows I adored you! Rev. Mathew WambuaPlease wake-up!!!!! Please wake-up Rev.!!!NIMEVUNJIKA!!!!!”

Pastor and Gospel Singer Tumaini Akilimali, the founder and Director at Tumaini Studios, also found it hard to believe his dear friend is no more.

Pastor T Mwangi, Founder and Visionary of Truth Mentorship, also sent his condolences to the entire family of D.C Donholm and anyone currently morning his death.

My condolences to the Deliverance Church Donholm, the family of Rev Matthew and the many sons and daughters you raised in faith. Generals don’t die they rest. We admired and looked up to you. Dance with the Angels Rev,” posted Pastor T posted on his official Facebook page.

Many, also crushed and perplexed, took to their social media handles to recount on how he impacted them in varied ways, not only in ministry but also in leadership.

Lilian Oyugi, one of the people he has left a positive mark on, thanked the late Gospel Minister for both nurturing her during her early years as believer and teaching her more about Christ.Lilian says she has lost a hero and a true icon.

“Mourning my hero. A true icon who.tolerated me in.my formative years as a believer. Taught me leadership and the price of endurance. Papa you later entrusted me with a portfolio of prayer leader for close to.4 years and groomed me. I will forever cherish you! The news of your demise at 2pm shattered me completely. May Yahwhe comfort your family . Rest in peace, “shared Lilian on her Facebook account.

Similarly, Nina Wambua had this to say about her departed spiritual father and mentor; “My spiritual dad..my friend..my Rev I will not say am not broken and shattered..I am…but I choose to celebrate a General a man of God a leader a mentor..I know this you served well and God has gained a great one….it is well for sure..Paps rest well.”

Some also shared about plans they were to fulfill together only for this monster that is currently crumbling moguls, dashing destitutes and sending servants of God six feets underneath at an alarming rate to rob him off too.

Until his untimely death, Rev. Mathew Wambua was the Senior Pastor at Deliverance Church, Donholmn.

He founded the church in 2007.  Since then, through the guidance of God, he has helped the church grow to great heights; winning many to Christ, nurturing new converts, raising leaders among othe exemplary achievements.

From 1996 to 2007, Rev Mathew was serving and fellowshipping with Bishop JB Masinde at Deliverance Church Umoja. There, he served as a pastor until when he official moved to the new church.

Rev. Mathew Wambua holds a Bachelors of Arts (B.A) in Bible and Theology from East Africa School of Theology.

He has left behind a wife Nancy Wambua and two daughters, Kate and Shalom.
