Luo sensation and Lakeside blogger Zack Opondo, still nursing incised wounds that resulted from a stab few days ago, has been arrested.
According to confirmed sources, the blogger was arrested this evening and is being held at Kayole Police Station.
His arrest follows a series of wrangles between him and a section of Facebook users who accused him of cyber bullying them in the past.
“While others are enjoying Valentine’s, another one will be sleeping in Kayole police station,” Posted Lilyyanne Oketch, a popular Luo Facebook user. “All cases will be revived against him and Cyber bullying MUST stop.”
A visit to Zack’s friend Profesa Ochieng Odongo’s timeline also confirmed the arrest.
“Professor IMBUGA talked about battle of WITS in his AMINATA book.. That’s the direction Zack Opondo case has taken. Eti Cate has arrested SAK! We sal teach them LAWWho’ll have the last laugh? “Eti Cate has arrested SAK! We sal teach them LAW.. Who’ll have the last laugh?”” posted Maxwell on his Facebook account.
Some have since condemned the arrest, terming it inhuman to force a sickling man spend a night in a cold lonely cell at Kayole Police station.
Wuod Min Bilo – “There is no gain in hurting an already hurt person whose name has nothing written. One might only end regretting hurting the already helpless. Stop let it go jaber.”
Mireri Junior – “kindly free him. It is wrong to arrest a sick man.”
Opondo’s arrest comes less than a week after suffering a life-threatening attack from people well known to him.
Photos circulated online showing Opondo lying half dead after the beatings. The only video that surfaced shortly after the attack showed the Duke of Alego staggering aimlessly with a bandage on his head.
